Health & Safety
Our Elite FT Summer Camp director and all summer camp counselor's are CPR/First Aid Certified and SafeSport Trained.
SafeSport Training
Our staff completes SafeSport training designed to help create a safe, respectful, and supportive environment for every camper.
This training covers three key areas:
Sexual Misconduct Awareness
- Staff learn how to recognize, prevent, and respond to sexual abuse and misconduct in a sport setting. This includes understanding boundaries, power dynamics in coach athlete relationships, grooming behaviors, and ways to make higher risk situations like travel and locker rooms safer.
Mandatory Reporting
- Team members are trained on when and how to report concerns. This includes understanding legal reporting requirements, how to respond if someone shares a concern, and the proper steps for notifying the appropriate authorities and organizations.
Emotional and Physical Misconduct
- Staff are educated on recognizing and preventing bullying, hazing, harassment, and other forms of emotional or physical misconduct. The training also helps clarify the difference between tough coaching and inappropriate behavior.
Our goal is simple. Every camper deserves to feel safe, supported, and confident.
Medication
If your camper needs medication during the day, please hand it directly to a camp director at drop off. All medication must be in its original container and placed in a sealed zip lock bag labeled with your child’s full name and grade. A doctor’s note is required for any medication we administer. Campers cannot keep prescription or over the counter medication in their backpacks. Our trained staff will safely store and give medication as needed. Click HERE for form.
When to Keep Your Camper Home
We want everyone feeling their best so we can run, play, and have FUN. Please keep your camper home if they have:
- A fever of 100.4 degrees or higher or have not been fever free for 24 hours, unmedicated
- Diarrhea, two or more loose or watery stools within four hours
- Vomited two or more times in 24 hours, or during the night
- Trouble breathing, ongoing cough, swollen glands, or severe sore throat
- Lice, frequent scratching, unexplained rashes, ringworm, or other contagious skin issues
If your camper starts feeling sick during the day, we will call you to arrange pickup.
Medical Emergencies
We play hard, so small bumps and scrapes can happen. Those will be cleaned up and handled by our staff without a call home. If something more serious happens, we will contact you right away.
Sunscreen
Sun safety is a big deal at FUN Camp. Please apply sunscreen before your camper arrives each morning. Send labeled sunscreen with them in their backpack so they can reapply throughout the day. Spray sunscreen works great and is easiest for quick reapplication. We will remind campers to reapply throughout the day.
Emergency Procedures
Your camper’s safety is always our top priority. Our entire staff is trained on emergency procedures, including fire, severe weather, and other unexpected situations. We regularly review these plans so everyone knows exactly what to do if something comes up.
A detailed emergency procedures binder is kept in The Sports Academy office, outlining step by step instructions for a variety of situations. We are prepared, proactive, and focused on keeping your camper safe at all times.

FAQ
What does my child need to wear/bring to camp each day? T-shirt, shorts, and tennis shoes (No flip flops, crocs, or sandals). For what to bring, sunscreen is suggested, especially during certain weeks (see in theme week description). Campers should also bring snacks for various snack times during the day, and anything else you might think they’ll need.
Is lunch provided?
Lunch is pack or purchase, so the students could pack their own lunch and snacks for throughout the day, or they can order a lunch ahead of time, or send your child with money to go to the concessions stand.
Can I sign up my child for a single day or week, not the whole summer?
Yes, they can, for a prorated cost.
What does a typical day of camp look like?
A typical day of camp includes the TSA playhouse, some form of physical activity, arts and crafts, and theme-based activities depending on the theme for that week.
Will my camper be allowed to use their phone at camp?
Yes. Campers may use their phones during lunch and designated arts and crafts time. Phones may not be carried around the fields or facility and must remain secured in their bags outside of those approved times.
What are drop off/pick up procedures?Registration will be in the main lobby next to the playhouse. Kids will need to be checked in and out with an ID from the adult, and they must be on the drop off/pick up list; please complete the proper form field during the registration process. What if my camper gets sick while at camp?
We will contact the parent/guardian provided during registration. Please make sure this information is updated with correct phone #'s. TESTIMONIALS
"Schools out fun camp is superior to other local camps in the area because they use well trained and experienced coaches to run the activities. The coaches and staff really set the camp apart from others we have been too. Lastly, the sports academy is an amazing climate controlled facility which is clutch in our Midwest climate!"

I love working with EliteFT. They are consistently professional and organized. I know that my athletes are going to be pushed by qualified trainers to maximize their physical abilities using proper technique. I also appreciate that they have always been flexible to develop a training program that is specifically designed to meet the goals that our girls soccer program has.”

“While our soccer team has been successful, we are always looking at ways in which to improve our program. Two years ago, my booster club president reviewed additional offerings to our athletes and tabled the idea of utilizing Elite FT for a fitness and flexibility program. Immediately, I realized the potential benefits to our soccer players. The idea is to make our athletes stronger, more flexible, and increase their overall fitness and endurance. To that point, I feel that the program can increase a players confidence and makes inroads into injury prevention. This will be our third year with Elite FT and we hope to keep this program available to our athlete for many future years.”

“I went to my lifelong friend Justin McMillian, owner of Elite FT, 4 months after having ACL replacement surgery and asked him to help me both rehab my knee and improve my overall fitness level. It has been one of the best things that has happened to me at the absolute lowest point in my life from an overall fitness standpoint. Elite FT designed workouts for me that focus on my range of motion and building up strength in my legs, but also helping me build strength back up in my entire body. Elite FT understands me very well, listens to me, challenges me, checks on me, and I can tell is really rooting for me to obtain my fitness goals. Anyone who asks me if I have lost some weight I say I don’t know because I don’t ever weigh myself, but if you want to start a real fitness program you need to talk to Elite FT!

“I would like to give a special thank you to Elite FT. The coaches took our son under his wing and helped him to get started and make it fun for him during speed and agility. It takes special coaches to get a child excited to go out and exercise! Our private lessons were some of Owens favorite times on the soccer field. He absolutely loved training! Thank you both for caring for our son and helping him grow in his soccer development.”

“Elite FT gave my girls the strength and confidence of the highest level coming into the girls soccer season. The players fitness levels during the first week of the season was the best myself and my staff have seen at CHS. The CHS Soccer Program has experienced quicker recovery times than ever before due to the intense workout sessions provided by Elite FT!”

We looked into the small group sessions with Elite FT when our kids became vocal about really wanting to set themselves apart…they were very serious about the game and their desire to advance. The small group sessions have been a game changer. Their confidence has soared. They are strong on the ball, their first touch is great, and they look forward to these weekly sessions. These trainers lead by example. They are professional, knowledgeable in their field, and are just really talented players themselves. The coaches at Elite FT really know our kids, their strengths and weaknesses. They tailor each session with an end result in mind. We see the skills they are mastering played out in games. They push them, encourage them, and celebrate their successes. Our son broke his arm two games into his first season of soccer. When he was able to return, we started him with 1-1 sessions because we were worried he would be behind after missing the entire season and training. He not only is where he should be, but his confidence is back, and he is doing great! Elite FT has absolutely earned this soccer family’s respect and business. We are extremely happy with the small group and 1-1 training at Elite FT.

Aaron training with David was great, he really improved over the 12 sessions. He won player of the week two weeks in a row with his club. His foot skills improved significantly and his range and quickness passing also improved. David was awesome, I think he kept Aaron engaged and gave him a ton of confidence. I also think he gave Aaron a sense of responsibility during his training sessions by asking him what he wanted to do to get better. I told David we are just taking a break and will ask for him again if he is available to train Aaron. Overall we are happy with the training and will do it again.
